| Best gig ever attended: | Probably Queens Of The Stone Age at Southampton Guildhall, Hallowe'en '02. Nick Oliveri got naked on stage, and I was deaf for days afterwards, though these two facts aren't related to each other, despite the Scary Movie-style implications. |
| Albums to recommend: | (Not my all-time favourites, but three that need further exposure) Steely Dan: Countdown To Ecstasy. The entire SD back catalogue is beyond criticism (bar The Royal Scam), but this is the icing on the cake and the best place for beginners to start. Jeff "Skunk" Baxter's guitar solo on The Boston Rag is worthy of a public freakout The Shins: Chutes Too Narrow. This is how modern guitar music should sound. The Tubes: The Tubes. Like Queen, but hilarious. |
